Portal Brocade Framed Textile | Burgundy & Ivory

£495.00

The Portal Brocade is handwoven with a series of nested diamonds, symbolising layers of existence and the gateways between worlds. In Maya tradition, the diamond represents universal harmony, the four cardinal directions and the journey through time and spirit – a design that honours the portals connecting the physical and spiritual realms, and the cycles of transformation and renewal.

Woven in deep, rich burgundy on an ivory ground, each diamond is centred with a touch of blue – a quiet point of focus at the heart of the design.

The textile is hand-sewn onto heavyweight linen and set within a bespoke oak frame. Seeming to float within the frame, its depth and texture invite a closer look – a beautiful way to bring texture, depth and a softer acoustic to a room.

Each textile is woven by skilled artisans using heritage techniques, resulting in a piece that carries both craftsmanship and cultural meaning.

ABOUT THE ARTISANS

Our weavers are based in the remote village of San Pedro, Guatemala, working in a small workshop where the hum of the pedal looms fills the streets. We collaborate with a project dedicated to preserving ancient weaving traditions, sharing this craft with the world, and ensuring fair wages for artisans.
