Our Celestial Stripe cushion combines modern colours with ancient Mayan motifs. The ladder stripes symbolise the connection between earth and the divine, while interwoven butterfly motifs embody transformation. Crafted on the oldest loom, the backstrap loom, that is worn around the weavers' waists, a practice that dates back over 6,000 years and which is carbon neutral.

Made by an all women collective who work on backstrap looms in the mountains of Chiapas, Mexico. We partnered with this collective after visiting San Andres, a village famous for it’s intricate brocade designs and colour. Needless to say, we were not let down!
